• Profession: Fisherman, Peter’s brother.

• Role: First disciple called (John 1:40-42), introduced Peter to Jesus. Not in the inner circle but active in outreach (e.g., bringing Greeks to Jesus, John 12:20-22).

• Later: Tradition says he preached in Greece and was crucified on an X-shaped cross (hence the “St. Andrew’s Cross”).
